Born in 1817/18 at Thornby as Mary Ann Walton MANNING, Mary was a resident of Eydon when she married George FLOWERS at the parish church there on 16 (Mar-Sep) 1846 by licence. She was a beneficiary of her husband's will on 15 Feb 1883, receiving his entire estate and continued to run the farm. Mary died on 25 Jun 1895 at the age of 77 and was buried in the churchyard on 28 Jun.

(location 13 on the plan): In affectionate remembrance of George FLOWERS who died January 16 1883 aged 73 years. "His end was peace". Also of Mary Ann Walton relict of the above who died June 25 1895 aged 77 years. "Strong was her faith in him; Who died to save; And bright her hopes of peace; Beyond the grave"

In her will, made on 16 Sep 1892 with codicils dated 4 Nov 1892 and 2 Apr 1895, Mary made the following bequests:
