Preston Capes Village Hall

Preston Capes Village Hall was founded in July 1939 on land given by the Knightleys of Fawsley. The wrought iron lantern over the door of the hall was provided by villagers to commemorate the Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

Millennium Sundial

At Easter 2003, to celebrate the new Millennium, a specially-commissioned brass sundial was placed on the wall above the front door of the village hall. This has been paid for by donations from local organisations, businesses and individuals, plus a grant from Daventry District Council.

The Committee

A Village Hall Management Committee – comprising three elected members, up to two co-opted members and one nominated representative from each of the village organisations (Parish Council, Parochial Church Council, Cricket Club and Women’s Institute) – look after the day-to-day running of the village hall and also organise regular fund-raising activities throughout the year.

The Annual General Meeting is held in May each year, when interested villagers may apply for election to the Committee.
