Village Voice - 1st January 2004
Happy New Year, everyone - and I'm going to start this first column of 2004 with a quick plea! Whilst I manage to keep abreast of most activities in the village, inevitably the odd one slips through the net - so if you would like your meeting or event publicised in this column, please let me have details. You can contact me by telephone (01327-361656), fax (01327-361481) or email (PennyEves@aol.com ). I usually send in my column on Sundays, so please make sure that any news gets to me before then. Alternatively, if you have a schedule of dates for the coming year and can let me have a copy, I shall ensure that they appear at the appropriate time.
REFUSE COLLECTION
A reminder that this Monday's refuse collection will be the grey bin, plus recycling boxes.
CAROL SINGING
I am extremely pleased to report that this year's carol singing around the parish raised just over £185 for the NSPCC. The PCC would like to thank all the organisers, everyone who turned up to sing, those who provided such welcome refreshments, and all those who gave so generously this year.
VILLAGE HALL EVENTS
For those of you filling out your new calendars and diaries, don't forget to make a note of the first village hall event of the year - a musical evening (courtesy of Northampton Touring Opera Group) on Saturday, 14 th February. Other events for the year will hopefully include a barn dance in May, the usual cook out in August, a quiz night in October and the traditional Christmas activities in December. Final dates are still to be confirmed, but should be available in a few week's time.
