PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

A brief report on items of general interest from last week's parish council meeting.

Little Preston Noticeboard – It is hoped that this will be sited in the lane, and final consultations regarding its position are currently being undertaken by Elizabeth Dearns.

Little Preston Speed Limits – 30mph speed limits and new signage is now in place.

Highways Matters – The highways representative, Mike Eves, reported that he had been contacted by independent consultants (on behalf of NCC) and asked to comment on work carried out by W.S. Atkins, and he will make the necessary points regarding the repair of potholes. He is attending the next monthly review meeting with Atkins, and will also be carrying out a survey of local roads. It is likely that the Charwelton Road (from the A361 to the water tower) will be closed towards the end of the month to allow for repairs to road edges. The chairman reported that several parishioners had expressed concern regarding overhanging hedges at Swan Farm and the resultant poor visibility when turning out of the High Street.
