CHURCH SERVICES

This Sunday at Preston Capes church: Holy Communion at 9.30am.

PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL

The PCC’s annual parochial church meeting will be held on Monday (20th March).

PARISH COUNCIL

This month’s parish council meeting takes place next Tuesday (21 st March) in the village hall, starting at 7.45pm. A copy of the agenda can be seen on the parish noticeboards.

CHURCH POSTCARDS

The PCC is currently looking into the possibility of printing some postcards of our church, which would be on general sale and available in the church for visitors. Unfortunately, printing costs are quite high (at nearly £150), so they are hoping that some sponsors may come forward who would be willing to contribute, perhaps, £25 towards these costs. If you would be interested in supporting this venture, please contact any member of the PCC.

VILLAGE HALL QUIZ NIGHT REPORT

Despite a slightly disappointing turnout for this event, the two dozen or so villagers who came along all had a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining evening. Based on the long-running television programme “Call My Bluff”, team members had to think up word definitions, some of which were truly hilarious! A break for a supper of jacket potatoes and assorted fillings gave the brain cells a respite, before a further two rounds of guessing. Thanks to Paddy Little for acting a quizmaster, and to everyone who supplied the food.

The next village hall event takes place around the middle of May – exact details and date to be confirmed shortly.
