VILLAGE CAROL SINGING – 18th December

‘TIS THE SEASON TO BE JOLLY!

This year’s carol singing event will take place in the playground (by the church gates) from 6.30pm (carol singing starts at 7.00pm – a lantern or torch would be useful for reading the carol sheets).

The playground will be decorated with sparkling lights, there will be braziers to keep you warm – and we’re expecting a visit from Father Christmas!

Mulled wine, hot dogs and mince pies will be on sale – with all profits being donated to the NSPCC.

Silly festive hats and reindeer antlers optional!

So put on your hats and scarves, warm your heart with a glass of mulled wine and let’s raise our voices and as much money as we can for the NSPCC!

(Donations of mulled wine and/or mince pies gratefully received – please contact Debs Jones on 361035 or deborahjones2@btinternet.com.)

Christmas Craft Fayre – Saturday, 22nd November

9.30am-1.30pm in the Village Hall (Old Forge Lane – signposted from the High Street)

This will be our third year (following two hugely successful events) and once again parishioners have been working hard to produce more hand-crafted items for sale. Come along to the Village Hall (Old Forge Lane) to see the wonderful range of quality gifts for all ages, house-wares, fashion accessories, wicker-ware and stocking fillers for sale at very reasonable prices. As last year, there will also be a “Parish Produce” stall selling cakes, preserves and confectionery. New for this year – the recently-published Preston Cakes Recipe Book will be on sale.

Entry is free and there will be the opportunity to win a delicious Christmas cake in our raffle.

Refreshments are available, including tea/coffee, mulled wine, mince pies, cakes and bacon rolls!

Anyone who has visited the village hall over the last year or so will appreciate the huge improvements that have been made. Profits from this year’s Craft Fayre will go towards completing this project.

Don’t forget … everything on sale is EXCLUSIVE to Preston Capes – you won’t find these items anywhere else!
