Sunday 3rd September – Marking the centenary of Merchant Navy Day

The Parish Council has arranged a commemoration of the centenary of Merchant Navy Day. This is to remember all the lives lost at sea by the Merchant Navy during the wars, and the debt of gratitude we all owe to those who served in the Forces
On Sunday 3rd September at 11.00 a.m. the Merchant Navy Flag will be raised above the church and our M.P. Chris Heaton Harris will say a few words. Everyone is invited to assemble just inside the churchyard for 11.00.
After a few photographs, we will then adjourn to the village hall where tea and coffee will be available and into the normal Sunday bar.
